Diamond Signature is assisting an international family based in Edinburgh with the recruitment of a versatile Nanny & Family Assistant. They are looking for someone who can provide attentive care for their children while helping coordinate the practical arrangements that come with a busy family schedule.

The position would suit a resourceful individual who enjoys combining childcare with planning and organisation. The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping the children’s routines consistent, making sure activities are properly arranged and helping the family manage everyday commitments with confidence.

Main duties & responsibilities

The role combines responsibility for the children’s daily care with practical assistance in organising their activities and schedules. Duties will include:

• Provide attentive care for the children, supporting their wellbeing and routines.
• Coordinate school pick-ups, clubs, lessons and other regular activities, ensuring arrangements are clearly organised.
• Prepare activities and outings for school holidays, taking the children’s interests and ages into account.
• Keep children’s schedules and relevant family commitments up to date, helping the parents plan ahead.
• Communicate changes to plans and relevant updates to the parents, helping ensure a smooth and reliable routine.

Candidate requirements

The family would welcome applications from candidates with practical experience caring for school-aged children who can demonstrate sound judgement, reliability and a thoughtful approach to their work. Experience in a family assistant position is beneficial, but candidates whose background is primarily in childcare may also be suitable if they have strong organisational abilities and are comfortable taking responsibility for practical arrangements.​​

Salary & benefits

A salary in the region of £40,000–£48,000 gross per annum is envisaged, with the final package reflecting the candidate’s experience and the agreed scope of the role.

This is a permanent, live-out opportunity offering a varied combination of childcare and family support. Working hours, annual leave and any additional arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.
