An American-French family relocating to London is looking for an experienced and reliable Private Housekeeper to join their household and help maintain their new family home to a high standard.

The main responsibilities will include cleaning, laundry, ironing, changing bed linen, wardrobe care and keeping the house organised and beautifully presented. The family would particularly appreciate someone with good knowledge of caring for fine clothing, delicate fabrics and quality household items.

The housekeeper will work alongside the family’s nanny, private tutor, parents and PA, so a friendly and cooperative approach is important. The household will be busy with three young children, although childcare will not be part of the main responsibilities.

As the family is establishing their home in London, the successful candidate will help create efficient household routines and should be comfortable working independently and noticing what needs to be done without constant direction.

Attention to detail is important to the family, particularly when caring for clothing, furnishings and personal belongings. The successful candidate should take pride in maintaining a home that feels both well organised and comfortable for the family.

The housekeeper will also be expected to manage laundry and ironing carefully and keep wardrobes and bedrooms in order. Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a small household team will be appreciated.

The family is looking for someone organised, discreet, trustworthy and genuinely proud of their work, with previous experience in private households.

The family travels during school holidays, so occasional flexibility may be required. This is intended as a long-term position for someone who would enjoy becoming part of a small and friendly household team.
