An American-French family relocating to London is looking for an experienced and engaging Private Tutor to join their household team and support the education of their three children.

The children are aged 8, 6 and 3. The eldest is naturally curious and particularly interested in science, reading and learning how things work. His younger sister is creative and sociable, with a love of drawing, music, stories and imaginative activities. Their youngest is energetic and curious and enjoys books, animals and exploring the world around him.

The tutor will provide structured educational support to the older children, including homework, reading, writing and other subjects according to their school requirements. They will also develop activities around the children’s individual interests and encourage them to become confident and independent learners.

For the youngest child, learning will be more play-based, focusing on language, early numeracy, books and exploration.

The tutor will work closely with the nanny, sharing information about the children’s progress, routines and interests. The family would like learning to continue naturally outside formal tutoring through books, games, outings and visits around London.

The family values education but would like learning to feel enjoyable and natural rather than overly formal. Someone who can bring creativity into lessons and encourage the children to ask questions, explore new subjects and develop their own interests would be particularly appreciated.

As the children will also be settling into a new school and a new city, the tutor will help provide continuity and support during this transition. Building a positive and trusting relationship with the children will be an important part of the role.

The family is looking for someone warm, patient and genuinely enthusiastic about education, with the ability to adapt to different ages and personalities. Occasional travel during school holidays may be required.
