We are a family of five living in Cobham, Surrey, and we are looking for two nannies to share a 7 days on / 7 days off rota.

We have three school-age children and a fairly full weekly schedule, so we need someone who is comfortable keeping up with school, activities, homework, appointments and everything else that comes with family life.

The nanny will take responsibility for the children’s day while on rotation, including school runs, organising activities, helping with homework, arranging playdates and making plans for their free time. We would particularly like someone who enjoys finding things for the children to do and takes an interest in what they are learning and enjoying.

Our children are all different, so we are not looking for someone who simply follows the same routine every day. Being able to adapt your approach to each child and encourage their individual interests is important to us.

The role also involves keeping on top of practical details. School information, activity schedules, clothing, bags, appointments and plans all need to be organised, so a nanny who naturally notices what needs doing will do well in this position.

The two nannies will alternate weeks and will need to leave each other clear notes and updates at the end of each rotation. We want the children to experience the same general structure regardless of which nanny is on duty.

We travel during school holidays, mainly within Europe, and the nanny will occasionally travel with us. Private accommodation is provided within the family home.

A background in Early Years, childcare or teaching would be particularly interesting to us. Paediatric first aid certification is required. Previous rota experience is helpful, but it is not essential if you have the right experience and feel comfortable with this type of schedule.

This would suit someone who likes an active household, enjoys working with older children and is happy to have a good degree of independence during their week on duty.
